Corbett National Park is a famous national park located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. Established in 1936, it is the oldest national park in India and was initially named Hailey National Park. The park was later renamed after Jim Corbett, a well-known British hunter, naturalist, and author who played a significant role in its establishment.
Covering an area of approximately 520 square kilometres (200 square miles), Corbett National Park is known for its diverse flora and fauna, particularly its tiger population. It is a designated tiger reserve and home to the critically endangered Bengal tiger. The park also houses various other wildlife species, including leopards, elephants, spotted deer, sambar deer, sloth bears, Indian gray mongoose, and more.
